Do I need a cloud account already?
No. You don't need prior cloud infrastructure or an existing cloud account to get started. We'll guide you through setting up the required free-tier AWS or Azure accounts and help you configure your environment as part of the course.
Do I need prior cloud experience?
No. The Foundation path is designed to give you the practical foundation you need to work with modern cloud and production environments. You should, however, have a basic understanding of software development and be comfortable writing and working with code.
Is this the same as the Advanced Cohort?
No. The Foundation is the open-enrollment starting point for engineers who want to strengthen their engineering fundamentals and learn how to build and deploy real-world systems. The Advanced Cohort is a separate, more selective program focused on operating production-scale systems.
Can I join the Advanced Cohort without completing Foundation?
Yes. Completing a Teleios Foundation path is one route into the Advanced Cohort, but it is not required. Intermediate-level and experienced engineers can apply directly if they can demonstrate the skills and readiness required to work on production-scale systems.
What will I learn in the Foundation path?
You'll develop practical engineering skills through hands-on work rather than just theory or toy projects. The path is designed to strengthen your fundamentals and prepare you to build, deploy, and work with real-world software systems.
What happens after I complete Foundation?
Completing Foundation can put you on the path toward the Advanced Cohort. Strong-performing graduates may be invited to continue into the Advanced Cohort, where the focus shifts toward deeper engineering challenges and operating production-scale systems. Intermediate-level engineers who did not come through Foundation can also apply directly.
Is Foundation beginner-friendly?
Foundation is intended for engineers who want to strengthen their practical engineering skills. You don't need to be an expert in cloud or production infrastructure, but you should have enough programming experience to participate in hands-on technical work.
