Why I Started Teleios
While working as a Senior Engineer at Kuda, I witnessed firsthand the critical shortage of qualified senior engineers in the African tech ecosystem.
Despite turning down over 20 job offers throughout my career due to high demand for my skills, I saw countless talented engineers remaining severely underpaid and overlooked.
This stark contrast revealed a troubling skills gap—one that limited both individual careers and company growth.
I founded Teleios to bridge this divide, creating a pathway for promising engineers to develop the advanced technical capabilities that make them not just employable, but highly sought-after by top companies globally.
My mission is to transform Africa's technical talent pool and ensure our engineers can compete and thrive on the world stage.

How our community operates
Teleios is a distributed, online-first community. Our members are working and aspiring engineers spread across six or more African countries, so almost all of our activity happens remotely rather than in a single physical location.
Learning happens through live sessions and community calls, code and project reviews, one-to-one mentorship from practising engineers, and day-to-day discussion in our online channels. This remote model is what allows us to reach engineers who would otherwise have no access to senior technical mentorship.

The Spark
Started as a small study group. We realized traditional tutorials weren't enough and began simulating enterprise environments for each other.

Launched our first official cohort. 50 engineers built and deployed full-scale Kubernetes clusters and CI/CD pipelines in record time.
